FARMINGTON — Hazel M. Towle, 78, of Farmington died Jan. 11, at her home.

She was born in East Wilton, July 23, 1932, the fifth child of Mabel Jewell and Percy Tilton. She attended the one-room Intervale School and Wilton Academy. Hazel worked at the Shiretown Restaurant, Howards Liggett Rexal, W.T. Grants in Farmington and retired from Foster Manufacturing Co. in Wilton.

She volunteered for six years at Sandy River Nursing Home, supported her husband, Maynard in his propane business and loved serving coffee in her kitchen to friends and family. Hazel also loved gardening, nature, shoes, gentle people and little children.

Hazel is survived by her husband, Maynard R. Towle of Farmington; son, Howard (Buffalo) Towle of Temple and children, Dallas and Megan; daughter, Gerri Adams of Portland and sons, Mitchell and Nolan; Paul E. White and family of Orrington; Fred White and family of Mexico; a brother, Raymond G. Tilton; and sisters, Doris M. Cersosimo and Shirley A. Thompson, both of the Wilton area.

Hazel was predeceased by brothers, Wesley P. Tilton of Connecticut and Florida, and Percy R. Tilton Jr. of Togus; and a sister, Dorothy L. Merrow of Wilton.
