LEWISTON — Valerie L. Farnum, 97, of 8 Douglas St. in Lisbon Falls, died Thursday, Jan. 6, at Montello Manor.

She was born in Livermore Falls, May 18, 1913, a daughter of Ernest G. and Alice E. (Davis) Pike. She was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

Mrs. Farnum married Dana G. Farnum Sr. and worked as a homemaker as she and her husband raised their family. Valerie was a proud member of the Maine Society of Mayflower Descendants and was a loving, devoted and hard-working wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves four sons, Robert Farnum of Lewiston, Richard Farnum of Lisbon Falls, Alan Farnum of Wisconsin, and Dana Farnum of Lisbon Falls; a daughter, Gail Griggs of Topsham; and several grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dana Farnum; and a son, Gary Farnum.
