PORTLAND — Women in Harmony, a chorus of 60 women’s voices dedicated to using the power of music to further social justice, will give a winter concert of chorus favorites from years past on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 22-23.

“Best of Women in Harmony” performances will be at 7 p.m. on Jan. 22 and 4 p.m. on Jan. 23 at Woodfords Congregational Church.

The program will feature songs honoring women’s experience and inspired efforts for social justice, including “Change of Heart,” “Bound for Freedom” and “Song for Peace.” A highlight will be “1000 Grandmothers,” a powerful song about women’s wisdom and devotion to disarming all forms of aggression.

This spring, the chorus will record the songs from the “Best of Women in Harmony” program; CDs will be available late next year.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door; $10 for seniors and students; children under 12 admitted free. Tickets are available at Longfellow Books and Starbird Music, at Nonesuch Books in South Portland and at www.wihmaine.org.
