The act of violence in Arizona could have been prevented if someone had used a degree of common sense by providing security for people who are considered to be targets in open season by disturbed people in our society.

My prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the innocent individuals who did not survive the cruel tragedy.

The death penalty should be the only form of punishment recommended for the young man identified as the shooter.

We should all pray for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords who is fighting for her life, and ask for God’s blessing that she fully recovers from her injuries.
