LEWISTON — A funeral Mass honoring the life of Christiane A. Veilleux was celebrated on Thursday at Holy Cross Church following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Nathan March celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. At the beginning of the Mass, Christiane’s children Christine Lachance, Ginette Consentino, Donat and Rene Veilleux draped their mother’s casket with the burial pall that commemorates their mothers Baptism into new life. During the Mass, the first reading was read by Frank Consentino and the prayer of the faithful was read by Laurie Lavertu. The offertory was brought to the altar by Grace Lavertu and Carter Veilleux. Words of remembrance were expressed by Larry Lachance. Pallbearers were David and Derek Veilleux, Ronald Hunt, Michael Lavertu, Larry Mann and Frank Consentino. A reception of fellowship was held at the Chickadee Restaurant after the services at the cemetery.
