GLENCOE, Okla. – Joyce Ann Heath and Jeffrey Martin Todish entered into holy matrimony as they exchanged their wedding vows surrounded by family and friends, overlooking the lake at the home of the parents of the bridegroom at 2 p.m. on Sept. 18. The Rev. Marc J. Dupuis Sr., brother-in-law of the bride, officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Todish is the daughter of the late Idella Buckingham Heath of Mexico. Mr. Todish is the son of Raymond and Theresa “Jane” Todish of Glencoe, Okla.
Escorted by her father-in-law, the bride wore a traditional floor-length white satin western style gown adorned with a fringed and pearl beaded fitted bodice. She also wore a floral headpiece and white western boots. She carried a bouquet of large peach roses.
The sister of the bride, Margaret St. Cyr, served as honor attendant and assisted the couple with many aspects, decorations and duties for the special occasion. Serving as bridal attendants were Shavon Fulton, stepdaughter of the bridegroom, Nancy Henderson, dear friend of the bride, and Carleen Dupuis, sister of the bride. Olivia Todish, granddaughter of the bridegroom, served as flower girl.
Chuck Rabon, friend of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeffrey Todish Jr., son of the bridegroom, Ronald Todish, brother of the bridegroom, and Wayne Abbott, long-time friend and chosen brother of the bridegroom. Jackson “Jr.” Todish served as ring bearer for his grandfather.
The wedding reception was held at the barn of the couple, with decorations of heirloom quilts made by the mother of the bridegroom on display, a stable for the band and western artifacts and paraphernalia. Guests were treated to a smoker dinner, barn dance and pool party. The children enjoyed a special treat of a western boot pinata filled with toys and surprises.
The couple honeymooned in Wichita, Kansas, to participate in one of their favorite sports of drag racing.
The bride is owner and operator of “Sun Fibers” of South Carolina. She will resume her business at their residence in Oklahoma.
The bridegroom is owner and operator of “Thunderbird Construction” also located at their residence. He is also a welding contractor.
The couple is residing in Glencoe, at the home compound Mr. Todish built, with their two dogs and one cat, surrounded by natural beauty, family and friends.
