WATERVILLE — Film buffs in Maine don’t have to wait until summer to get see independent movies offered up by the Maine International Film Festival.

The seventh annual MIFF in the Morning film series resumes this weekend at Waterville’s Railroad Square Cinema with screenings of “Kings of Pastry” on both Saturday and Sunday morning.

MIFF in the Morning is a series of weekend film screenings that are held during the winter. Other movies on tap are “White Material” on Jan. 29 and 30; “Ajami” on Feb. 12 and 13; “Bhutto” on Feb. 19 and 20; and “Inspector Bellamy” on March 5 and 6.

The full 14th Annual Maine International Film Festival — which showcases more than 100 American independent, international and Maine-made films — will be held July 15-24 at Railroad Square Cinema and Colby College.
