With the flakes already falling across much of the region, all schools with games listed in the Sun Journal’s local sports docket have decided to nix athletic activities for this afternoon and tonight.

In emails sent to the teams, coaches, fans and media this morning, Mt. Blue and Monmouth cancelled all activities for this evening.

According to the rest of the schools’ athletic departments and/or main office personnel, they will do the same.

Mt. Blue will dismiss school at 12:30, and all after-school athletics have been cancelled.

Monmouth’s basketball games against Winthrop will be rescheduled for Wednesday, with the girls set to tip off at 5:30 p.m., and the boys to follow at 7.

Buckfield’s basketball games against Sacopee Valley tonight have been postponed until Monday, Jan. 24. The girls will play at 5 p.m., and the boys will follow at 6:30.

Dirigo’s girls’ basketball game scheduled for tonight will be played Wednesday night as part of a girls/boys doubleheader.

Lisbon has postponed its girls’ basketball game to the same time Wednesday, a 7 p.m. start for the varsity.

St. Dom’s will play its girls’ basketball game as part of a doubleheader with the boys’ team Wednesday, as well, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Oxford Hills’ games against Morse have been rescheduled for Wednesday. The girls’ game will be at Oxford Hills at 6 p.m., while the boys will tip off at Morse at 7 p.m.

Telstar will make up its girls’ basketball game as part of a doubleheader at Madison on Wednesday, with the girls leading things off at 5:30 p.m.

Telstar has also moved its nordic ski race from Wednesday to Thursday at 3 p.m.
