Lewiston police officer Rob Dionne receives high-fives as he takes to the ice for the International Fire & Police Winter Games gold medal match-up at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Wednesday evening. Dionne and his teammates helped raise $1,000 for charity during the three-day event. LPD played for the gold medal against Maine Fire, which included firefighters from Lewiston, Auburn and Augusta. LPD won 5-2. “They are hot on the ice and friendly off the ice,” event organizer Brenda Espinoza said of the rivalry between the two teams. Plans are already under way for the 2012 winter games, which will feature nine events, Espinoza said. At lower left are Tyler Leger, 7, of Auburn, Cam Dionne, 11, of Lewiston and Bryce Leger, 11, of Auburn.
