LEWISTON — The Lewiston Recreation Department is searching for an individual who would like to assist with gymnastic equipment set-up at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St.

Experience with gymnastic equipment would be a plus, but is not necessary. The individual will assist with lifting portions of a plywood floor, as well as carpet, balance beam and other gymnastics equipment.

The volunteer must have the ability to lift approximately 50 pounds. Times needed would be 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays.

At that site, residents will find a volunteer application that they can return by mail, FAX, or in PDF format. Applications may also be found at municipal service windows at Lewiston City Hall, 27 Pine St.

Individuals who send in an application will be interviewed, and the individual selected will be subject to a background check through Lewiston’s Human Resources Department.
