HIRAM — The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office has hired a new school resource officer for Sacopee Valley High School.
Sullivan Rizzo of Gorham is a 22-year veteran of the Portland Police Department. He most recently worked for the University of Southern Maine police, where he was a lieutenant.
“He came with a good resume,” Sheriff Wayne Gallant said Friday.
School resource officers deal with crime issues in schools and give presentations and awareness classes to teachers.
