RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial for Matthew J. Plante of Rumford was celebrated Friday at St. Athanasius–St. John Church with The Rev. Phil Tracy as celebrant. Altar assistant was George Gionet and organist was Mark Belanger. Music selections included “Hosea,” “Because the Lord is My Shepherd,” “Amazing Grace” and “On Eagle’s Wings.” Readings were given by Arthur Meader. Eulogy was given by Ron Theriault. Interment in the spring will be held at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. A reception in celebration of his life was held at Friday at the Rumford Falls Aerie No. 1248, FOE in Rumford. Arrangements were under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home.
