AUBURN — Emilia Marie Doyon, 100, formerly of Lewiston, died Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Clover Manor in Auburn.

She was born on July 31, 1910, in Beauceville, Quebec, the daughter of Joseph and Generia Bernard Larochelle. Formerly of 274 Pine St. and Maison Marcotte in Lewiston, she attended St. Peter’s School and was a graduate of  “Cours Superieur de l’Ecole St. Pierre” in 1926 and Jordan High School in 1928.

On Sept. 5, 1938, she married Laurent P. Doyon, who predeceased her on Oct. 24, 1987. She was a lifelong member of Saints Peter and Paul Basilica, Prince of Peace Parish, belonging to the Ladies of Charity, Society of Saints Peter and Paul and La Survivance Francaise. For 12 years, she was a bookkeeper for the former R. Hamel Jewelry Store, was then a homemaker, and taught third grade at St. Peter’s School from 1952 to 1955. She later worked for W.T. Grant Co. and retired after 15 years of managing its domestic department. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by a son, Albert and his wife, Judith, of Westbrook; a daughter, Gert and Marcel B. Chasse of Lewiston; seven grandchildren, Christina of Mango, Fla., Gerald and Ronald of Westbrook, Marc and wife, Sheri, of Westbrook, Dennis and wife, Corina, of Kennebunk, Dan and wife, Celeste Chasse, and John Chasse of Lewiston; two step-grandchildren, Daren Hotham of Gorham and Stacie Nielsen and her spouse, David, of Westbrook; 12 great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a baby brother, Albert Larochelle.
