OQUOSSOC — Norman C. Coy, 67, of Oquossoc, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, at his home.
He was born March 8, 1943, in Coudersport, Pa., the son of Clarence C. and Margaret V. (Bradley) Coy. He attended school in Austin, Pa., and went on to join the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his time in the millitary, he went to school to learn computer programing in Pennsylvania, moved to New Jersey, and commuted into New York City for work. During this time, he met his first wife, Diana Guillermo, she predeceased him. He then met Kayko Kitiyama and they were married in 1977.
He worked in the computer programing field for many years retiring from the corporate world as a project manager as he went to work for the computer consulting company that his wife had started a few years prior, called Strategic Directions Inc. They worked together until thier retirement to Oquossoc, where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and cooking. He had his private pilot’s license, and also enjoyed scuba diving with Kay in the Carribean.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; a sister, Mary Glover; a brother, Walter Goodwin; and several cousins, including a cousin, Shirley Garzel, whom he loved dearly.
He was predeceased by his father; and a cousin, John Garzel.
