COLCHESTER, Vt. — Denise Belanger, daughter of Guy and Michelle Belanger of Rumford, is among 38 members of the Saint Michael’s College Liturgical Choir who will sing in schools and churches in Braintree, Milton, Weymouth and Dedham, Mass., Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 4, 5 and 6.
The group of singers and instrumentalists will be accompanied by the Rev. Brian Cummings, SSE, Saint Michael’s director of Edmundite Campus Ministry, who will preside and preach at the Masses to be celebrated. Choir Director Jerome Monachino, Saint Michael’s associate director of Edmundite Campus Ministry for Liturgical Music, will lead the choir.
Belanger, a junior accounting and business administration double major, graduated from Mountain Valley High School, Rumford.
The choir and ensemble performs in its own eclectic and popular musical style, using a combination of African, Brazilian and American Swing flavors to compliment traditional hymn singing.
