L/A Arts’ Gallery 5 will host the opening reception for its “Color, Line and Form: The Art of Abstract” exhibit on Friday, Jan. 28. More than 70 works of illustration, oil, photography, watercolor, sculpture and jewelry by 28 artists will be featured. “Color, line and form combine to create ‘strange’ works that you want to puzzle out,” said gallery curator Tammie Grieshaber. “I love abstract art because you can lose yourself in some pieces as you search them for their story.” The reception will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the gallery at 49 Lisbon St., Lewiston. The artwork by Roderick Dew, above, is a limited edition archival ink on rag paper titled “Red Box.”
