LEWISTON — Charlotte Noonan, 78, of Lewiston, died Saturday, Jan. 22, at Montello Manor, after a short illness.

She was born Dec. 5, 1932, in Portland, the daughter of Charles and Louisa (Greenwood) Cummings. She was raised in Bradford, N.H., except during World War II when the family lived in Ohio, St. Louis and Spokane, Wash. She graduated from Warner (N.H.) High School in 1950, and from Mt. Ida Junior College.

She moved to New York City, where she went to work for Capital Airlines and married Patrick Sherlock in 1954.

After a divorce, she moved to Lewiston in 1964. After taking time to raise her two children, she started working at Gracelawn Memorial Park in the early 1970s as the office manager and worked there for more than 20 years. She found her soulmate and married Clinton Noonan in 1977.

She later worked at Polar Paints and Geiger, before retiring in 1998.

She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, her cats, gardening, eating out, camping and watching old movies as well as the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Steve Sherlock; a daughter, Laura Sherlock and her companion, Joe Morin; a granddaughter, Logan Morin, all of Lewiston; a brother, Richard of Augusta and Estero, Fla.; and a niece, Stacy and her husband, David Gervais of Augusta.

She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband; and two stepsons, Robert and Thomas Noonan.
