RANGELEY — The Rangeley Lakes Cross Country Ski Club is now taking registrations for its 14th annual TD Bank Rangeley Lakes Loppet scheduled for March 5.
This is the second race in the New England Nordic Ski Association TD Bank Marathon series. Events planned are: Burt Kettle Classic 25K, start time 8:45 a.m.; freestyle 25K and 50K, start time 9:45 a.m.; and touring class 25K, start time 9:55 a.m.
The area has plenty of snow and more is expected, club spokesman Carol Sullivan said. The Outer Limits course is at the base of Saddleback Mountain.
Several refreshment stations along the course offer fruit, cookies and beverages to skiers and prizes are planned for winners.
Until Jan. 31, race registration is $60 and the tour is $50. From Feb. 1 through Feb. 23 (postmark dated) registration is $70 and the tour, $60. From Feb. 24 through March 4, registration is $80 and the tour is $70.
Entries close March 3 at 5 p.m.
Participants may register online at www.skireg.com or go to the club’s website to download a registration form for mailing at www.xcskirangeley.com.
