FARMINGTON — Franklin Memorial Hospital announces that Taffy Davis, RN-BC, BSN, clinical instructor, and Karen Rogers, RN-BC, MSN, director of education, recently became board-certified in nursing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. To become certified, each successfully passed a 175-question comprehensive computer-based examination.

According to the center, nursing professional development is critical to a nurse’s lifelong learning and allows them to develop, maintain, and expand competence in professional nursing practice. The NPD specialist employs and engages a broad range of in-depth knowledge and skills in education theory and application, career development, leadership and program management. Key roles in nursing professional development include: consultant, facilitator, change agent, educator, leader and researcher.
