St. Dom’s 49, Boothbay 41

 AUBURN — Senior guard Kurt Johnson notched a team-high 14 points as St. Dom’s upset Boothbay with 49-41 triumph in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Saints (5-9) were clinging to a two-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter, before pulling away on a pair of Zak Johnson 3-pointers down the stretch.

Junior center Tom Applegate was prolific in the rebound effort, tallying 15 to go along with nine points for St. Dom’s.

Sohpomore guard Anthony DiMauro posted a team-high 14 points as the Seahawks (11-3) failed to get any lift against the Saints.

Cape Elizabeth 57, Gray-New Gloucester 46

GRAY – Cape Elizabeth used a strong second quarter outscoring Gray-New Gloucester 21-14 on their way to a 57-46 win in boys’ class B basketball.

Gray-New Gloucester cut the deficit to six entering the fourth quarter trailing 44-38 but Cape Elizabeth held on for the victory. Theo Bowe dumped in a team high 26 points. Bowe and teammate Joey Doane each sank four 3-pointers in victory. Doane finished with 14 points for the Capers (11-3).

Adam Jensen netted 26 points followed by Josh Farynaz’ ten points for the Patriots (8-5).

Leavitt 58, Lincoln Academy 51

TURNER – Tied through three quarters, Leavitt outscored Lincoln Academy 21-14 in the fourth for a 58-51 victory in boys’ class B baskeball action.

Tim Dow netted a game high 19 points for the Hornets (11-3). The junior also sank three 3-point baskets. Classmate Jordan Hersom contributed with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Senior guard Lucas Witham dished out nine assists and added six points.

Stephen Quinlan led the Eagles (6-8) with 14 points including four from behind the arc. Brandon Reilly chipped in with 11 points in the loss.

Forest Hills 53, Buckfield 36

BUCKFIELD – Evan Worster and Raymond Petrin each netted a game high 14 points to lead Forest Hills to a 53-46 victory in boys’ class D basketball.

Petrin sank three 3-point baskets while Worcester added one. Dylan McNally also added nine points for the Tigers (9-5). Austin Dooley led the Bucks (4-9) with 12 points. Casey Robertson followed with 11 points while Alan Hedrick chipped in with 10 in the defeat.

Mt. Blue 70, Morse 15

FARMINGTON — Junior center Cam Sennick delivered six field goals and 14 points to lead Mt. Blue to a 70-15 rout over Morse in KVAC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Cougars (12-2) jumped all over Morse in the first two quarters, taking a 46-9 lead at the midpoint. Senior forward Adam Wiles-Rosell tossed four field goals and six free throws to contribute a shared game-high 14 points for Mt. Blue.

The Shipbuilders (0-14) continued to be stuck in port during the second half, scoring only six points in the stanza. Sophomore forward Matt Munster recorded a team-high six points for Morse.

Mtn. Valley 89, Mt. Abram 42

SALEM — Junior guard Izaak Mills provided a surfeit of points with 32 as Mountain Valley ran all over the Roadrunners in an 89-42 rout over Mt. Abram in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Falcons (14-0) paced themselves evenly across the quarters, scoring within a range of 18 to 26 points in each frame. Isaac Roberts and Jacob Theriault contributed 18 and 13 points, respectively, for Mountain Valley.

Sophomore forward Ian James was the leading scorer with 18 points for the Roadrunners (2-12) in the losing effort.

Telstar 57, Jay 55

BETHEL — Danny Whitney converted a layup with eight seconds remaining to lift Telstar to a 57-55 victory over Jay in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Rebels (10-4) led 33-19 at the half, but began to slide in the fourth quarter as Tyler Gervais sank two 3-pointers to knot up the contest at 55-all.

Junior forward Corey Howard, who had a shared team-high 12 points with senior center Ben Field, made the timely relay to Whitney.

Junior guard Jake Bessey led the Tigers (7-7) with 14 points, while Gervais tallied 13 points in the losing effort.

Monmouth 41, Lisbon 32

LISBON — Roger Bachelder and Tim Whitmore tallied 10 points apiece as Monmouth slipped past Lisbon, 41-32, in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday night.

Monmouth (10-4) held Lisbon to single digits in each of the first three quarters to open a 34-21 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Tobey Harrington led Lisbon (0-14) with 10 points while Brad Groh chipped in with eight.

Lewiston 61, Skowhegan 27

LEWISTON — Shawn Ricker was right on target, hitting five 3-pointers and scoring 19 points, as Lewiston held Skohegan to single-digit scoring for four quarters and sprinted away with with an easy 61-27 victory in a boys’ basketball game Friday night.

By halftime, the Blue Devils (6-8) took a commanding 39-14 lead. Ricker was the only double-digit scorer in the game.

For Skowhegan (3-12), Levi Barnes led the way with his nine points.

Dirigo 56, Livermore Falls 34

DIXFIELD — Caleb Turner went above and beyond the call of duty when he scored 16 points and picked up four steals and three assists as Dirigo trounced Livermore Falls, 56-34, in a boys’ basketball game Friday.

The Cougars took 35-22 lead by halftime. Cody St. Germain was good for 14 points and Josh Turbide hit for 10 points for Dirigo. Ben Holmes pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked a pair of shots to go along with his six points.

For the Andies, Hunter Brett led the way with 14 points and Mike Castonguay scored 12.
