PITTSFIELD — Jeanne C. Springer, 75, of Lewiston and Pittsfield passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, at Sebasticook Valley Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born April 15, 1935, a daughter of the late Eugene and Carmella (Normand) Michaud.

Jeanne was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, a member of Holy Family Church and a member of The Paraclete Prayer Group of Prince of Peace Parish. She enjoyed animals; especially her son’s Labrador’s and cats. Jeanne will always be remembered for the love and care of her family, and as a generous soul. Often times, Jeanne would be known to buy clothing and necessary items for children in need.

She is survived by her children, Glenn Varney and his wife, Pat, of Pittsfield, Gale Berry and husband, James, of Wisconsin, Tina Grady of North Carolina, and Dawn Berry and husband, Brian, of Washington; her brothers, Ray Michaud and wife, Louise, of Lewiston, Maurice Michaud and his wife, Harriet, of Littleton, N.H.; she also will be missed by her eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.

Jeanne was predeceased by her son, Grey Varney.
