NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library will return to a discussion of memoirs by American writers at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, with “Wait Till Next Year” by Doris Kearns Goodwin.
Goodwin is a Pulitzer Prize winning author and historian. She is best known for her books, “No Ordinary Time” and “Team of Rivals.” “Wait Till Next Year” is her memoir telling of her years growing up in 1950s Brooklyn, when baseball truly was the national pastime.
The series will continue an exploration of “Memoir: Lives and Stories” that was begun in the fall. The library will use a style of discussion based on a format suggested by Seattle Public Library.
Three discussions will be mutually facilitated. Library staff and participants will contribute questions, thoughts and topics to keep the discussion going.
The remaining discussions are of “This Boy’s Life” by Tobias Wolff, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, and “All Over But the Shoutin’” by Rick Bragg, same time, Thursday, April 14.
