Sunday service

PARIS — Ben Tucker will lead the 10 a.m. service Sunday, Feb. 6, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris. Forest Perkins will direct the music and Renee Wales will lead the Sunday school. The coffee h\Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.

Seniors meeting

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Funky Red Barn. Reservations must be made by 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, by calling Caroline Gould at 824-3226 or Arlene Lowell at 824-2877.

The menu will include stuffed haddock. Price is $10. Membership dues of $3 are due at the meeting.

Stir-fry cooking class

PARIS — The MaineHealth Learning Resource Center at Stephens Memorial Hospital is offering a “Healthy Stir-Frying” class from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the First Congregational Church, South Paris. Cost is $10 a person.

Chef Elton Cole and Stephens Memorial Hospital registered dietitian Pat Watson will demonstrate how to stir-fry healthy dinners. They will take participants through the ingredients, prep and cooking process in the hands-on class.

Pet care tourney

NORWAY — Responsible Pet Care will hold a Texas Hold’em tournament from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Municipal Complex, 19 Danforth St.

Entry fee is $55. Prizes paid to 10 percent attendance. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Food and beverages will be available. Space is limited to 48 participants. For more information, call 743-8679.

Seek chili makers

OXFORD — Oxford Recreation will host a Chili Challenge from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Oxford Station House Community Center.

Staff is looking for residents of Oxford to come forward and show why they feel their chili is the best in town. Those interested are asked to preregister by Wednesday, Feb. 9, by calling 539-4563.

A donation will be asked at the door to vote on who wins the blue ribbon.
