LEWISTION — L/A Arts will hold Pecha Kucha Night, a high-energy evening of creative people sharing creative ideas, on Friday, Feb. 4 at Gallery 5.

Each presenter will show 20 images for 20 seconds each. That’s six minutes and 40 seconds to energize the audience with their ideas, project, art work and creativity.

The pace is fast, but there is plenty of time built into the evening for people to meet, share and make connections.

Gallery 5 curator Tammie Grieshaber brought PKN to Lewiston last year as a forum for creative people in the community to share their ideas. She plans to organize a Pecha Kucha Night in Gallery 5 six times this year.

Presenters this month are Laurie Ouellette, Molly McGill, Jean Meike, Jim Nickelson, Mik Morrissey and Kimberly Post Rowe, with a special presentation by The Muppets.

Pecha Kucha Night was started in Tokyo by Klein Dytham Architecture in 2003 as a way for young designers to meet, network and show their work. Today, it is a trademarked event in 282 cities globally.

Gallery 5, at 49 Lisbon St., will open at 5 p.m., with presentations beginning at 6:20 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door. Seating is limited.
