FARMINGTON — A Jeep sustained an estimated $4,000 damage when it rear-ended a loaded tractor-trailer truck on Route 27 on Wednesday.

The 1998 Jeep driven by Kirsten Elliott, 22, of Holsten, Mass., was unable to stop in time when the tractor-trailer driven north by Jacques Begin, 40, of Quebec slowed down for vehicles in front of him, Farmington police officer William Tanner said.

No one, including Elliott’s passenger, Jesse Groening, 22, was injured in the 10:30 a.m. crash.

There was no damaged to the truck, Tanner said. The Jeep was towed from the scene by Collins Wrecker.

Members of Farmington Fire and Rescue and Farmington Police helped at the scene, he said.

Tanner said he did have another call for a vehicle off the road but someone had pulled the vehicle out before he arrived.

People were staying off the roads, he said. Area schools, several businesses and the university were all closed Wednesday due to the storm.
