TURNER — The following classes start the week of Feb. 7 at SAD 52 Adult and Community Education, 486 Turner Center Road.
Cardio-Kickboxing Aerobics: A class for beginners, men and women, offering daily health tips.
Hula Hoop Fitness: A full body toning and cardiovascular workout for beginners. For ages 50-plus, a low impact class that improves strength, flexibility and balance.
FitKids: Kids will get moving with short circuit, strength building and group/individual exercises. The class promotes socialization, physical fitness, healthy choices and fun.
Zumba: A Latin-rhythm-based workout that burns major calories. Available singly on Mondays or Wednesday or take a combo of both nights.
Storytime Yoga: For ages pre-kindergarten through third grade, the class encourages creativity and movement while recounting stories.
Yoga for Fun, Fitness and Flexibility: Open to new or experienced students, the class improves overall health, well being, strength and posture.
My Smart Hands Baby Signing: Interactive class for parent and baby. Learn 100-plus American Sign Language signs and 15 songs to teach baby.
Baking 101: Learn how to make something new each week, including pie crusts, brownies, cookies, puddings and breads, all from scratch.
CADD Introduction: Features the basics of computer aided drafting and design. Problem-solving, conceptual design and applications will be stressed.
Microsoft Word 2007: Learn basic word processing concepts and skills and how to produce a wide variety of documents.
Microsoft Excel 2007: The class is offered in three parts. Take one or all three. Part 1 will focus on the basics of spreadsheets.
Computer Basics: A beginner class that teaches the skills to assist in all areas of the computer.
Creative Photography: Learn to see light and discover impact in everyday places.
Make Your Clothes Fit: Bring two or three projects and learn what to do to tailor them. Bring sewing machine, tape measure, pins, thread and a seam ripper.
Conversational Spanish: Learn the basics of the language for travel, friends or work.
Ballroom Basics: Learn the basic steps of the waltz, swing and foxtrot.
Digital Photo Uses: Learn how to e-mail photos, create digital scrapbooks, photo slide shows.
Knitting Circle: Share patterns, learn new stitches, create gifts and apparel. The class is for beginners to experts.
Conversational French: Increase knowledge of phrases and vocabulary that will be of use with local people who speak the language daily.
Web Site Design and Management: Work together to learn how to create a business or personal Web site.
Zumba Blast: Twenty minutes of high impact Zumba followed by 40 minutes of abdominal “blasts” with use of floor work and five-pound medicine ball.
Guitar 101: Group lessons for extreme beginners, aimed at adults looking to pick up a hobby. Learn the basics and a few favorite licks.
Guitar and Bass Lessons: One-on-one half-hour sessions for guitar and bass tailored to student’s skill level. Aimed toward developing a strong musical foundation for beginners or ongoing advancement for intermediate players.
Welding: Learn a marketable skill. Techniques will address individual needs. Students may prepare for state certification.
Academic classes starting the same week include Chemistry, Physics, Algebra I, World Geography, U.S. Government, Geometry, Anatomy and Physiology.
