MEXICO — The owner of the Mexico minimall confirmed Wednesday that a takeout Pizza Hut will soon fill the space formerly occupied by Curves.

Rob Howe of Naples, owner of the minimall on Main Street, said renovations of the 1,500-square-foot space are expected to begin later this month, with an opening date tentatively set for April.

Pizza Hut will offer takeout service only, he said, and will have no seating. He said Pizza Hut has only just begun to offer the takeout-only service in the state. He said it was similar to options offered by Dominoes and Little Caesar’s pizza restaurants.

Howe declined to provide the length of the lease, and he does not know how many people will be employed.

However, he said the company will hire locally and will likely advertise for employees as the opening date draws nearer.

Pizza Hut will join Subway, U.S. Cellular and Viewers Choice Video in the minimall.

Curves, operated by Kathy Andrews of Rumford, moved to the River Valley Technology Center in Rumford a few days ago.
