I agree that the placement of a methadone clinic in Lewiston, or any place for that matter, needs to be given extensive consideration regarding location. With that said, I feel that people are missing the bigger picture.

Please consider that a neighbor or even a person driving the car next to you might be under the influence of alcohol, prescription medication or illegal drugs. Just because we are not aware of it does not mean it does not exist.

Moreover, people who are participating in a program with a clinic are trying to better themselves and they need that opportunity and support to do so.

I ask others to please be empathetic to people trying to fight addiction, and don’t believe for one minute that it can’t happen to someone you know or love.
