SOUTH PARIS — Anna M. Swan passed on Friday, Feb. 4, at Market Square Healthcare.

She was born in Rumford, Aug. 11, 1930, the daughter of Iva and Harold Barnett. She graduated from Mexico High School and worked at Diamond Match and Penley’s factory and later became a certified nursing assistant working days at Penley’s mill and Ledgeview Nursing Home at night.

She was a member of the West Paris Baptist Church, the Franklin and West Paris Grange. Anna was a Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed reading, the water, fishing, and baking for friends and made a good many excellent pies.

Everything she did, she did with all of her heart.

She is survived by her son, David Gammon and his wife, Brenda, of Peru; her daughter, Tammy Stevens and her fiance, Rick, of Lisbon; a sister, Sally Hartford of Eliot; her grandchildren, Amy Gammon of Farmington, Julie Curlow of Peru and Ben Gammon of Strong, Klye and Elijah Gammon of Chesterville and Cassidy and Dylan Pelchat of Lisbon; five great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Bertha DeHass of West Paris.

Anna was predeceased by her son, Zacheus Gammon, last December; her parents; and her siblings, Muriel, Grace, Geraldine, Richard, Thomas and Herman.

Thank you to Norway Rehab and Living Center and all the staff. In her words, they were “my home and family.”

As per Anna’s request, there will be no services.
