DURHAM — Town Clerk Shannon Plourde has returned to work on a reduced schedule.
Until further notice, her hours will be Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
Plourde had taken time off due to illness.
She also announced that Selectman Norman Newell, citing health issues and anticipated surgeries, has submitted his resignation effective immediately.
His term expires on town meeting day 2012.
With the annual town election coming in April, state law allows for a shorter time period for prospective candidates to obtain and circulate nomination papers to fill the position. Nomination papers must contain at least 25 and not more than 100 signatures of registered voters and must be filed no later than Feb. 17.
For further info call Plourde at 353-2561, ext. 11.
