Parking bans have been issued in both Lewiston and Auburn. In Lewiston, police banned all street parking through noon Sunday. In Auburn, the ban is scheduled to last until 3 p.m.
The restrictions are meant to ensure access to streets for snow removal and emergency travel. Violators will be towed, police said.
Similar bans are expected in other area towns. Police in Brunswick have prohibited on-street parking from midnight until 7 a.m. Sunday.
