SEBAGO, Maine (AP) — Maine authorities say a small plane has crashed on Sebago Lake and one person has been rescued.

State police spokesman Steve McCausland says the plane, believed to be an ultralight, which usually has room for just the pilot, was reported down after 4 p.m. Saturday near Nason’s Beach. Authorities say one person has been rescued and taken to a hospital. That person’s condition was not immediately known.

Steve McCausland says the lake is iced over.

Deborah Turcotte, a spokeswoman for the Maine Warden Service, said the agency sent an airboat to the scene, but it was not needed.
