NEWRY — A teenage boy was transported via helicopter Sunday afternoon following an accident at Sunday River.

WGME reported Sunday evening that the 14-year-old was injured after he and a friend skied out of bounds on Spruce Peak.

Sunday River Spokeswoman Darcy Liberty told the television station that the incident occurred about 12:30 p.m. and that the boy was transported by LifeFlight of Maine.

Liberty said she did not know how the skier was injured or the extent of his injuries.
