The Maine Renegades Squirts hockey team kept its 2011 unbeaten streak alive this past weekend by winning one game and tying a pair.

In Valley League action on Saturday, the Rens skated to a 3-3 tie against Reading. Hunter Dupuis, Evan Cox, and Ryan Blouin were the goalscorers while Blouin, Owen Cox, and Andrew Verrault got the assists. Hard hat player of the game went to Blouin.

The Renegades beat Triton, 4-1, in the second game. Goaltender Jacob Smith came within 1:44 of pitching a shutout before Triton found the back of the net. Blouin and Dupuis each got a pair of goals with Casey Clouiter, Derek Allen, Verrault and Thomas Levasseur collecting the assists. Hard hat player of the game went to Dupuis.

On Sunday morning in Winslow, the Renegades skated to their second tie of the weekend with the Maine Hurricanes, 3-3. Goals were registered by Jack St. Pierre, Cam Niven, and Dupuis. Reed Hopkins (two), Niven and Blouin collected the assists. Hard hat player of the game went to Smith.

The team is back in action this coming weekend with two games against the Maine Freeze. The Renegades have scheduled free open house practices on Feb. 22, March 8 and March 11. Please check their website www.mainerenegades.com for details.

Maranacook Peewees edge Lewiston White

LEWISTON — Brandon Coulombe scored two goals and Matt Gyorgy added another to lift Maranacook Peewee Hockey past Lewiston White, 3-2, at Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Cody Woodward and Colby Bilodeau each scored an unassisted goal for Lewiston. Nick Cerullo and Zach Davidson logged Maranacook assists. Jason St. Pierre picked up the win in goal.
