Birdalyn was a homemaker and was especially known for her cooking and wonderful cakes.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Owens Jr. of Auburn; two sons, William Fisher of Chadds Ford, Pa., and his wife, Beth and James Owens, III of Gardiner and his fiancee, Brenda Healey; a former daughter-in-law, Vicki Owens of New Gloucester; three grandsons she loved dearly, Justin Owens of Alexandria, Va., Todd Owens of Auburn and Grant Owens of Gardiner; one great-granddaughter, Kayelynn; two sisters, Marion of Arvada, Colo., and Jackie of Media, Pa.; and her beloved beagle, Riley.
