LEWISTON — Llewellyn W. Jacobs, 72, of Buckfield passed away suddenly on Feb. 8.

He was born in Lewiston, Oct. 24, 1938, the son of Dora Wright Jacobs and Arnold L. Jacobs Sr. He attended school in Buckfield, but received his high school diploma from Rudyard High School in Michigan.

He proudly served his country as a 20-year member of the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1976. He then started a second career in the agriculture industry working closely with local farmers. He was currently employed at Northeast Ag. Sales Co. in Wales, a company he loved, along with the people he worked with. He was a 50-year member of the Evening Star Lodge 147, AF & AM and Mountain View Chapter 197, O.E.S. He was also a member of Kora Shrine, the John D. Long American Legion and President of Oxford County Shrine Club.

He loved his family and was very proud of their accomplishments. Lew was a people person. He loved talking politics and visiting with the guys at Ralph Libby Chainsaws and he enjoyed his good friend, Gene Bell.

He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Nancy Sampson Jacobs; his daughter, Kimberly Eastman and her husband, Jason and their sons, Cole and Jared; his son, Eric and his wife, Tonja and their daughters, Seneca and Siana; his brother, Jerry Jacobs; his sister, Evelyn Burnham; several nieces and nephews; and his much loved dog, Sadie.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Arnold “Jake” Jacobs; his sister, Rosalie; and his sister-in-law, Connie.
