MEXICO — The following incidents were handled recently by the Mexico Police Department.

Assault

Assault and vandalism charges are pending against a Carthage man as a result of an incident reported at 12:05 a.m., Feb. 9, at Tommy Guns bar on the Roxbury Road. Chief James Theriault said three people were involved in a fight outside the bar. The tires of one person were slashed, resulting in about $400 damage. Once written statements have been taken from all involved, an arrest may be made.

Burglary, theft

The owner of a ham radio tower located on the Backkingdom Road reported at 8:19 a.m., Feb. 7, that someone had broken into the building at the foot of the tower and stole a 440 repeater valued at $1,000. Damage to the door was estimated at $200.

Vandalism

Police believe two incidents occurring in the same neighborhood involving attempted theft of snow machines are related. At 11 a.m., Feb. 4, a Pine Street resident reported that someone damaged the starter to a snow machine that was parked next to his garage, causing $300 damage. At 2 p.m., Feb. 3, a Fourth Street resident reported that someone damaged the pull starter of his machine as it was parked on an adjacent snowmobile trail, causing $200 damage.
