CORINTH, Maine (AP) — A wood pellet company in Maine is using a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to expand and create jobs.

Corinth Wood Pellets Chief Financial Officer Steven Goldberg says wood pellets offer a cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to petroleum-based heat.

Goldberg tells WCSH-TV that the $125,000 grant money will allow Corinth Wood Pellets to add 12 jobs, and the company is looking into other USDA programs to expand its business.
