PARIS — The Oxford County Commission will meet Monday, Feb. 14, rather than the usual Tuesday.

According to Oxford County Administrator Scott Cole, Commissioner Caldwell Jackson, who recently accepted an appointment as deputy commissioner of agriculture under Gov. Paul LePage, won’t be able to attend. Cole said Jackson intends to remain on the County Commission.

The board is set to discuss a communication from David Soley, attorney for a couple who own land in Mason Township. The couple, Cameron Wake and Celina Adams of Kittery, is looking to begin mediation on the ownership of a road that passes through their property.

Wake and Adams contest the commission’s assertion that the road through their land is public property. They have argued that it has been abandoned under state law and now belongs to them.

The commission meets Monday at 9 a.m. at the Oxford County Courthouse on Western Avenue.
