A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Edward D. “Snookie” Mercier was celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the Parish of the Holy Savior.

The Rev. Philip Tracy was the celebrant. The Old Testament was proclaimed by his granddaughter, Sandra Richardson, and the New Testament was proclaimed by his granddaughter, Nicole Barnett. The eulogy was given by his grandson, Brian Reed. Offertory gifts were brought to the altar by his granddaughter, Scenic, and his great-grandson, Jacob. The altar server was George Gionet. The organist was Mark Belanger. Music selections during the mass were “Be Not Afraid,” “Amazing Grace,” “You Raise Me Up” and “Let There Be Peace On Earth.”

Pallbearers were Wayne Mercier, Myles Mercier, Daniel Reed and Brian Reed. Military honors were rendered by the Maine Funeral Honor Guard. All were invited to a reception in the parish hall. Spring interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
