ANSWER: Sun Spots found a couple of used ones on eBay, but the only new ones appear to be sold through Sunbeam in Australia in Australian dollars.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Can you please help me locate Kera Gauthier? She was my dog groomer at PetCo in Auburn. I have tried to find her new place of employment, but have been unsuccessful in my attempts.

She was wonderful to work with, and I miss her terribly. She “connected” with my Emma (my bichon frises) and I would like to continue my grooming relationship with her. Grooming becomes a very personal part of an owner/pet’s life. It cannot be easily replaced. I am seeking the relationship and love she shared with my dog.

ANSWER: Sun Spots doesn’t know anything about Kera, but many people have written to Sun Spots about Kate Pastore, who used to groom at the Kennel Shop in Lewiston. She is now out on her own. Her number is 240-4796, and her e-mail is katpastore@live.com. Is it possible you have the wrong name?

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a large quantity of used greeting cards. I would like to know if someone or some group could use them for arts and crafts. I’m sure that I’m not the only one who would appreciate this information. Thank you for a very interesting and useful column. — G. D., Auburn

ANSWER: Sun Spots gets this question regularly. In addition to any reader responses, she refers them to St. Judes. According to www.stjudesranch.org, they are now accepting all cards — not just Christmas. You can mail them to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children Recycled Card Program, 100 St. Jude’s St., Boulder City, NV 89005.

After refurbishing the cards, they sell the recycled cards at 10 for $10. Along with Christmas cards, they sell Easter, birthday, thank you and other all-occasion cards.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I collect unusual flowering cacti. I am hoping a Sun Spots’ reader has an Easter cactus (either pink or red). I am hoping to take a slip from their plant.

The Easter cactus is similar to the Christmas cactus except it blooms in the spring. The Easter cactus flowers are either pink or red or star-shaped.
