GRAY — Alicia Valente dropped in the team-high 11 points and ripped down 11 rebounds, too, as No. 8 Gray-New Gloucester dismissed ninth-seeded Wells with a 35-27 victory in a Class B girls’ preliminary basketball game Wednesday.
The Patriots (12-7) held the Warriors (9-2) to single-digit scoring and built a 16-14 lead at halftime.
For Wells, Kelsey Bragdon scored 14 points and hit two 3-pointers.
