LEWISTON — The Lewiston Police Department is hosting its first 2011 Citizen Police Academy beginning March 10. The academy runs 10 weeks and meets from 6 to 8 p.m. each Thursday.

The CPA provides an inside look at police work and the Lewiston department.

There is no charge to participate and you do not have to be a resident of Lewiston to attend. A background check is required. Applications must be in by March 4 and class size is limited.

Applications are available at the Lewiston Police Department’s website, lewistonpd.org, at the Community Resource Team’s office at 292 Bates St. and at the police station on Park Street.
