LEWISTON — Dara Reimer, owner of the Bread Shack in Auburn and olympic baker off a win at the international SIGEP bread cup in Rimini, Italy, will  return to the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center to kick off its 2011 Cliff Notes to Culinary School Series.

The series brings in local experts in the culinary field to lead hands-on cooking classes in a learning environment for seasoned and passionate cooks alike.

Reimer will begin by offering “Artisan Bread: Ancient Techniques Remembered.” The course was offered last year and is back by popular demand. Participants can look forward to being involved in each step of the 48-hour baking process.

To take it a step further, Reimer is offering a new course on French breakfast pastries.

Those interested may register for classes separately or sign up for the two-part series.

“Artisan Bread: Ancient Techniques Remembered” will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, $30/person; French Breakfast Pastries, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 31, $30/person; Cliff Notes to Culinary School Series, both classes, $55/person.
