LIVERMORE — No more bedbugs have been found at the Livermore Elementary School, RSU 36 Superintendent Sue Pratt said Thursday.

A single bedbug was found on a rug in a classroom on Tuesday. A staff member picked it up with sticky-tape late in the day, and it was determined to be a bedbug the following day.

School officials followed policy and alerted proper authorities.

A pest management company was brought in and determined there were no more bedbugs in the school. The classroom was cleaned.

Staff have been vigilant ever since and will continue to be so, Pratt said.

Bedbugs can travel from one place to another on backpacks, clothing, luggage, books and other items.
