AUBURN — Rita C. Ball, 81, of Lewiston died Thursday, Feb. 17, at Bolster Heights.
She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 18, 1929, the daughter of Cornelious J. and Mary (Shanahan) Chippendale. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1947, attended Westbrook Jr. College and later graduated from the University of Maine at Orono. She took great pride in her teaching career.
Rita is survived by her cousins, Betty Yeaton, Mary Tyler, Janice Conant, Jimmy McDonough and wife, Elaine; and her longtime friend, Phyllis Theberge.
She was predeceased by her aunts, Lean Shanahan and Mary Chippendale; and her uncle, John Chippendale.
