AUBURN — Jeannette R. Lafrance, 83, of Auburn, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 10, 1927, a daughter of Joseph and Laurenda (St. Onge) Poulin. She attended local schools, was married and raised her two children in the Lewiston-Auburn area. She worked in the shoe industry for many years at LA Heel among other shoe factories before retiring several years ago. In her younger years she enjoyed Candlepin bowling. Playing bingo, going to Foxwoods, Hollywood Slots and taking trips with the Auburn Seniors brought her great pleasure in her later years. She is survived by her daughter, Anita Maheux, and her husband, Henry, of Lewiston; her son, Roland Lafrance, and his wife, Therese, of Augusta; one sister, Irene Hicks of Grandview, Mo.; four grandchildren, Shelly Leblond, Tina Finch, Scott Maheux and Steven Lafrance; six great-grandchildren, Riann Leblond, Maranda Finch, Janae Rainey, Amanda Lafrance, Christina Lafrance and Colby Maheux; one great-great-granddaughter, Ostara Lafrance; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Ronald Lafrance; three sisters, Rose Hebert, Roberta Morin and Juliet Jett; five brothers, Roland, Alfred, Romeo, Joseph and Wilfred Poulin.
