FARMINGTON — Glenys W. Gilbert, 82, of Wilton died peacefully at the Sandy River Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation on Feb. 15, her 82nd birthday.

She was born on the family farm at Bean’s Corner, the sixth child of Robert and Fannie Mae (Priest) Weeks. She was a 1947 graduate of Wilton Academy. She was an active member in the Farmington Falls Nazarene Church and later the Livermore Falls Nazarene Church. In the recent and final years, she found her church home at the East Wilton Union Church.

She was employed at G. H. Bass Shoe in Wilton for many years before running the “Lake House” on Wilson Lake for the then owners and executives of Forster Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1994. She loved cooking, knitting, traveling and working as a member of the FMH Auxiliary in the hospital gift shop.

She is survived by one son, Bruce W. Gilbert and his wife, Pamela, of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, JoAnn Pulliam and her husband, Stan, of Athens, Ga.; six grandchildren, Gayla, Christa, Aaron, Angela, Sean and Kristin; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Sean Kevin; sister, Roberta French; and two brothers, Wallace and Milton Weeks.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Frank B. Gilbert Jr., who died in 1999; a sister, Rena; and a brother, Wilmont “Willie.”
