KNOX, Maine (AP) — Maine state police say they’re investigating the shooting death of a teenager inside someone’s home.

They say 19-year-old Tyler Seaney (SEE’-nee) was shot and killed in a tiny Waldo County town called Knox on Saturday night when his friend was handling the gun and it went off. They say the Bangor teen died moments later.

An autopsy is scheduled Monday at the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta.

No one has been charged in the teen’s death. The name of his friend is being withheld while detectives investigate what happened.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the friend is a young man around the victim’s age. He says the gun is being analyzed.
