LISBON — Dana Allen Ross of 39 Pinewoods Road in Lisbon, passed over into Spirit at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, with devoted family members and fur freinds at his side. Dana had fought courageously for nine months against the cancer which took his life. He was a devoted family man and a good friend to those who knew him well. Dana’s sons and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Dana was a graduate of Portand High School, Class of 1969. After graduation, he proudly served his country for 20 years both in the U.S. Army for 12 years in Germany and North Carolina, followed by eight years service in the National Guard at the 133rd Enginer Battallion on Steven’s Avenue in Portland.

Dana also served the public at the police department of the University of Southern Maine for many years. He took early retirement from USM because of his health, but returned to work at Brunswick Naval Air Station in Emergency Services; followed by Emergency Services at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Dana loved spending time with all his grandchildren. His three regrets were that he would not live to see his grandchildren graduate from high school or go to college; that he never opened his family cooking business, and that he never got to see a live Red Sox game. He wants to share with evreyone, “Follow Your Dreams NOW.”

He really enjoyed good cooking, watching The Food Channel, The History Channel, and traveling to visit family in Texas. He rooted for the Red Sox and Patriots.

Mr. Ross is survived by his good friend and former spouse, Eddita Joan Felt; their three sons, Erik Ross of Lewiston, Dain Ross of Lisbon Falls and Ian and Ana Ross of El Paso, Texas; his grandchildren, Tyler Ross, Kaitlyn Nancy Ross, Ian Ross Junior, Cassidy Thomas, Ericka Mckelvey and Susan Ashley.
